    Your boys are adorable (don’t tell them I said so 🙂) The singing at the end was excellent. Venna is quite a nice addition to your family of boys. Does he get to come with you to America? Isaac is so handsome! He’s almost grown. Thank you for another beautiful video sharing Tongan culture. We love learning about real life in your island nation.

    So then what is it actually used for nowadays, since it’s not used as clothing???

    • @JaneDoe-uo8pe
      @JaneDoe-uo8pe Рік тому

      She explained it already in the video but very briefly. Most of the time it's just used as a gift or decoration for a special event. We would wear a ta'uvala over our westernized clothing which is somewhat similar to a ngatu. A ta'uvala can be made different ways with different materials and you wear a specific one to a specific occasion.

    • @JaneDoe-uo8pe
      @JaneDoe-uo8pe Рік тому

      @@4-2fo-ou69 no, in the video that's called a "ngatu" but we now wear something similar called "ta'uvala" it's smaller and folded to fit your body if it's too big. There are documentaries or videos explaining what a ta'uvala is

    Jennifer! This is a beautiful video. Tongan culture is so important. We love you and your particularly personal view of the Tongan lifestyle. To be raised in a conservative homeschool family in the Pacific Northwest in Washington State and then to move to your husband’s homeland in the South Pacific Island Kingdom of Tonga is a dreamy storybook tale. We want to learn more about your journey from quiet schoolgirl to mama of six beautiful Tongan boys. Please tell us more of your story.

    I am so glad to find all of these older videos. In this film the boys were even younger than when you were last in our kitchen on the little island of Camano where you grew up with my children, Jennifer. The Pacific Northwest of Washington State is a huge distance from Tonga, but you are at home here in this paradise. To God be the Glory!
